About Spring Things

If greeting card is what you came for, start here — Spring Things is the plainest reading of that request on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf. The designer behind it is Asnufy Studio. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. 15 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up.

Our own plan for it is handwritten font, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. We check two things before any download like this: the preview at full size, and whether the licence covers what you plan to do with it.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.

The alternates are the point here — swapping one or two letters is what stops a repeated name from looking stamped. Thirty-five reviews is unusually deep…
