About Ladybug

What we like about Ladybug is how little it tries to be everything — it does bcaligraphy font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf. It is quiet on saves so far, so take this as our opinion rather than the crowd's. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. Credit goes to Plafont store.

Type your own words into the preview, not the designer's. Scripts are built around a sample phrase, and a double letter or an all-caps word is where they come apart. Put it to work on beauty font first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
