About Alington
What we like about Alington is how little it tries to be everything — it does christmas font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf. Only 23 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. It comes from Nun Creatype.
Type your own words into the preview, not the designer's. Scripts are built around a sample phrase, and a double letter or an all-caps word is where they come apart. If you want one use for it, take elegant font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether christmas font is really what you are getting.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
