About Mama
Mama is one we kept when we last trimmed this shelf: it does its one job and does not ask for attention while doing it. It stands at 4.9 out of 5 across 117 reviews, and we read the low scores first when there are any. Plenty of people got here before us: 6,215 of them saved it. It is NJStudio's work.
We would reach for it when the deadline matters more than the flourish. The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. We would not hesitate on this one, beyond the two minutes it costs to read the licence tab.
On this site it lives on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing script and calligraphy fonts rather than searching for it by name. We track what people actually type before they land here: script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are handwritten, hand written, signature, cursive and brush and they stay on this page.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
