About Army Vintage

What we like about Army Vintage is how little it tries to be everything — it does adventure font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. It is WNIdesign's work. Only 3 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge.

A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. If you want one use for it, take americana font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

It answers to apparel font, army badge, army font and army lettering, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. Its home here is Display and Poster Fonts — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing. Related wording on the shelf: display, poster, headline, retro and slab. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. Put next to the usual requests here — vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
