About Vintage Chalk
What we like about Vintage Chalk is how little it tries to be everything — it does 50's font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf. It comes from OWPictures. We are not the first to notice: 396 makers saved it on before we did, and that number is the closest thing to a verdict the platform gives. It stands at 5.0 out of 5 across 8 reviews, and we read the low scores first when there are any.
The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. The obvious job for it is 70s fonts, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. The score is good enough that the risk is small. We would still look at the preview full size and read the licence tab before using it for anything we sell.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
