About Tropical
What we like about Tropical is how little it tries to be everything — it does aloha, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf. Credit goes to Graphix Line Studio. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is. Only 80 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's.
Type your own words into the preview, not the designer's. Scripts are built around a sample phrase, and a double letter or an all-caps word is where they come apart. We would use it the way the listing hints — beach — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether aloha is really what you are getting.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
