About Strong Girl

Strong Girl earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to brush font, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. The save count is still small at 95, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. Credit goes to MistyDesigns.

If you want one use for it, take curly alphabet: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Type your own words into the preview, not the designer's. Scripts are built around a sample phrase, and a double letter or an all-caps word is where they come apart. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

The words on the listing are calligraphy font, curlz font svg, curlz letter svg and curlz monogram, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. On this site it lives on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing script and calligraphy fonts rather than searching for it by name. Judged against the requests we see — script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. Nearby you will see script, handwritten, hand written, signature and cursive, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
