About Reality Brush

We went back and forth on Reality Brush and kept it, because the alternative was a shelf full of fonts that look better than they work. Only 20 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. It comes from y2ncreator. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist.

Use it where the font has to disappear behind the thing you are actually making. Type your own words in the preview box before you decide: script fonts look beautiful in the designer's sample and fall apart in all caps or with a double letter. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
