About Pompey
Pompey is our abstract pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. The save count is still small at 31, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. It is Pukka De's work.
Our own plan for it is alfabeto, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. Type your own words in the preview box before you decide: script fonts look beautiful in the designer's sample and fall apart in all caps or with a double letter. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
It answers to alphabet, background, calligraphy and cartoon, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. The searches that bring people to this shelf are script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it. We filed it under Script and Calligraphy Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are script, handwritten, hand written, signature and cursive and they stay on this page.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
