About Midnight Diner

Midnight Diner is our back slanted script pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. Only 14 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. Sarurday Champagne made it.

Type your own words in the preview box before you decide: script fonts look beautiful in the designer's sample and fall apart in all caps or with a double letter. We keep it filed mentally under bold script, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

Filed as diner theme, fifties and retro. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. Nearby you will see calligraph, handwritten, hand written, signature and cursive, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. We keep it under Script and Calligraphy Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the script and calligraphy fonts we have gone through. The searches that bring people to this shelf are script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
