About Marline

Most of what turns up under aesthetic needs work before it is usable. Marline is the version that does not. Credit goes to cocodesign. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. 50 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up.

Put it to work on branding font first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether aesthetic was the description or the aspiration.

Search for brush script, calligraphy, chic and cursive and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. It is shelved with the rest of the script and calligraphy fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. What this shelf gets asked for is script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are handwritten, hand written and signature and they stay on this page.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
