What we like about Jhonie Screw is how little it tries to be everything — it does alternative characters, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf. putracetol made it. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. With 22 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.
The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. We keep it filed mentally under banner, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
It answers to bold style, classic, clean version and creative expression, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. The same shelf also answers to script, calligraph, handwritten, hand written and signature, so widen the search there before giving up on it. We filed it under Script and Calligraphy Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. What this shelf gets asked for is script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
