About Hoodie

The reason Hoodie is here is brush font and nothing else. It does not try to cover the next three jobs along, and we would rather it did not. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. Creatype Designer made it. Nobody has piled onto it yet, which means the only recommendation here is ours.

Type your own words into the preview, not the designer's. Scripts are built around a sample phrase, and a double letter or an all-caps word is where they come apart. Put it to work on classy font first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

The listing files it under calligraphy font, cursive font, display font and edgy font — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. People after this usually search script, handwritten, hand written and signature too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. Judged against the requests we see — script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. It is shelved with the rest of the script and calligraphy fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
