About Homework
Most of what turns up under brush font needs work before it is usable. Homework is the version that does not. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. It is quiet on saves so far, so take this as our opinion rather than the crowd's. Creatype Designer is the name on the listing.
The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. Our own plan for it is classy font, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
Search for calligraphy font, cursive font, display font and edgy font and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. The wording people arrive with is script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
