About Hi Barbie
We put Hi Barbie on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf because alternate is the kind of thing people come here looking for, and this one answers it without a detour. Area Type is the name on the listing. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. The save count is still small at 39, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.
If you want one use for it, take artistic: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether alternate is really what you are getting.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
