About Goodly
This is the one we reach for when the request is 4th of july. Goodly keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. It sits at 4 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. The designer behind it is arnon.021993. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one.
Put it to work on art first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether 4th of july was the description or the aspiration.
It answers to beach, cute, display and doodle, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. What this shelf gets asked for is script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. The neighbouring searches are script, calligraph, handwritten, hand written and signature — worth a look if this particular font is close but not quite it. On this site it lives on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing script and calligraphy fonts rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
