About Funta
Funta is our abc pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. Credit goes to gatype. Only 26 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's.
We keep it filed mentally under art, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Type your own words in the preview box before you decide: script fonts look beautiful in the designer's sample and fall apart in all caps or with a double letter. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.
The listing files it under background, black, bold and calligraphic — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. On this site it lives on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing script and calligraphy fonts rather than searching for it by name. People after this usually search script, handwritten, hand written, signature and cursive too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. We track what people actually type before they land here: script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
