About Florida Palms

The reason Florida Palms is here is beach font and nothing else. It does not try to cover the next three jobs along, and we would rather it did not. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. Edignwn Type made it. The save count is still small at 14, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.

Type your own words into the preview, not the designer's. Scripts are built around a sample phrase, and a double letter or an all-caps word is where they come apart. We would use it the way the listing hints — branding font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether beach font is really what you are getting.

The words on the listing are coastal font, display font, distressed font and font duo, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. We keep it under Script and Calligraphy Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the script and calligraphy fonts we have gone through. Nearby you will see script, calligraph, handwritten, hand written and signature, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. We track what people actually type before they land here: script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
