About Fanfare Ink

Fanfare Ink earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to advertising font, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. 7 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. Credit goes to PixelBrush Supply.

The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. We keep it filed mentally under bold font, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether advertising font is really what you are getting.

Type bold script font, book font, brand font and branding font into the search above and this one comes back — the same font under four different habits of phrasing. Related wording on the shelf: calligraph, handwritten, hand written, signature and cursive. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. We filed it under Script and Calligraphy Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. The wording people arrive with is script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
