About Dandelion

Dandelion is our bcaligraphy font pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. The save count is still small at 1, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. Credit goes to Plafont store.

If you want one use for it, take beauty font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Type your own words into the preview, not the designer's. Scripts are built around a sample phrase, and a double letter or an all-caps word is where they come apart. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

If you came in looking for bold font, brochure font, brush font and bundle font, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. We keep it under Script and Calligraphy Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the script and calligraphy fonts we have gone through. We track what people actually type before they land here: script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family. People after this usually search script, calligraph, handwritten, hand written and signature too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
