About Cherry

The reason Cherry is here is beauty font and nothing else. It does not try to cover the next three jobs along, and we would rather it did not. It has gone unnoticed so far. We found it worth shelving anyway. Credit goes to andikastudio. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist.

Type your own words into the preview, not the designer's. Scripts are built around a sample phrase, and a double letter or an all-caps word is where they come apart. The obvious job for it is bold font, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
