About Berpatu
What we like about Berpatu is how little it tries to be everything — it does bold, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Script and Calligraphy Fonts shelf. Only 22 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. Credit goes to majestype.
We would use it the way the listing hints — brushpen — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. Type your own words into the preview, not the designer's. Scripts are built around a sample phrase, and a double letter or an all-caps word is where they come apart. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
Type calligraphy and camping into the search above and this one comes back — the same font under four different habits of phrasing. Related wording on the shelf: script, handwritten, hand written, signature and cursive. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. You will find it among the script and calligraphy fonts, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job. We track what people actually type before they land here: script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
