About Andeya

Andeya is our apparel fonts pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. Only 16 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. The designer behind it is AF Type.

Type your own words in the preview box before you decide: script fonts look beautiful in the designer's sample and fall apart in all caps or with a double letter. Put it to work on beauty fonts first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. We check two things before any download like this: the preview at full size, and whether the licence covers what you plan to do with it.

Search for birthday cards fonts, branding fonts, calligraphy fonts and christmas fonts and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. We filed it under Script and Calligraphy Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. The same shelf also answers to script, handwritten, hand written, signature and cursive, so widen the search there before giving up on it.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
