About Adamiya

Adamiya is our back to school pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. Pista Mova made it. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. We are not the first to notice: 232 makers saved it on Creative Fabrica before we did, and that number is the closest thing to a verdict the platform gives.

The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. We would use it the way the listing hints — barbie — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether back to school is really what you are getting.

Filed as branding, calligraphy, calligraphy fonts and celligraphy. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. The neighbouring searches are script, handwritten, hand written, signature and cursive — worth a look if this particular font is close but not quite it. We keep it under Script and Calligraphy Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the script and calligraphy fonts we have gone through. We track what people actually type before they land here: script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
