About The Breaks
There is nothing clever about The Breaks, and that is the compliment: it does what the shelf promises and stops there. Bdstrd Std made it. It stands at 5.0 out of 5 across 1 review, and we read the low scores first when there are any. The save count is still small at 42, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.
A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. This is a safe default rather than a statement piece, and most jobs want the safe default. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether display and poster fonts is really what you are getting.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
