About Spooky Whisper

Ask for abc and you get a hundred near-misses; Spooky Whisper is one of the few that answers the question as asked. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. It comes from allouse.studio. 32 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up.

A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. The obvious job for it is alphabet, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
