About Puffora Bold

What we like about Puffora Bold is how little it tries to be everything — it does 70s style font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. Credit goes to Craft Artist. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. With 17 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.

If you want one use for it, take aesthetic font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

Filed as birthday font, bold rounded font, bold typography and branding font. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. Related wording on the shelf: display, poster, headline, vintage and retro. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. We keep it under Display and Poster Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the display and poster fonts we have gone through. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
