About Ridge 5 Bold
There is nothing clever about Ridge 5 Bold, and that is the compliment: it does what the shelf promises and stops there. 5.0 out of 5 from 17 reviews — a small sample, but it is the sample there is. We are not the first to notice: 1,077 makers saved it on Creative Fabrica before we did, and that number is the closest thing to a verdict the platform gives. The designer behind it is Studio Dot by dot.
A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. We would keep it for the project where a font has to work on the first try. The score is good enough that the risk is small. We would still look at the preview full size and read the licence tab before using it for anything we sell.
We keep it under Display and Poster Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the display and poster fonts we have gone through. The searches that bring people to this shelf are vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it. Nearby you will see headline, vintage, retro and slab, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
