About Jelly Sweets

Most of what turns up under 70s font needs work before it is usable. Jelly Sweets is the version that does not. The designer behind it is IngingDigitalArt. Only 5 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist.

A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. If you want one use for it, take apparel design: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. We check two things before any download like this: the preview at full size, and whether the licence covers what you plan to do with it.

The words on the listing are bold display font, bold headlines, bouncy font and bubble font, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are poster, vintage, retro and slab and they stay on this page. Judged against the requests we see — vintage fonts commercial license, display fonts, vintage fonts canva, number fonts vintage and retro canva fonts — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. We keep it under Display and Poster Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the display and poster fonts we have gone through.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
