About Japan Day
What we like about Japan Day is how little it tries to be everything — it does abstract, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. The buyers who left a word rate it 5.0 out of 5 — 1 review, all of them on the listing. It sits at 34 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. The designer behind it is Phantom Creative Studio.
A display font only has to work big, so we judge it at poster size and ignore how it looks in a paragraph — that is not its job. If you want one use for it, take advertising: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
