About Groovy Holiday

If 70s font is what you came for, start here — Groovy Holiday is the plainest reading of that request on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. The designer behind it is Inani Type. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. With 15 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.

If you want one use for it, take bold display font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
