About Chinese New Year
What we like about Chinese New Year is how little it tries to be everything — it does art fonts black fonts, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf. 14 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. The designer behind it is Nongyao. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict.
Check the capitals and the spacing between them — display type lives or dies on how a short word in caps sits together. Put it to work on baby fonts first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether art fonts black fonts is really what you are getting.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
