About Bad Command

We put Bad Command on the Display and Poster Fonts shelf because authentic is the kind of thing people come here looking for, and this one answers it without a detour. It is Gassstype Studio's work. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. With 10 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.

Our own plan for it is branding, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. A display face has one job: be read big. We judge it at poster size and ignore how it behaves in a paragraph, because it will never be in one. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
