About Vintage Notes

What we like about Vintage Notes is how little it tries to be everything — it does 50s fonts, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Serif Fonts shelf. 739 saves is a quiet kind of recommendation, and it is the only one we can read off the listing. It comes from Lollipop Hand Drawn. Buyers put it at 5.0 out of 5 over 5 reviews; worth clicking through to see what they actually said.

We keep it filed mentally under 60s fonts, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Look at the face at body-text size before you look at it big. Most serif disappointments happen at eleven point, not at forty-eight. We would not hesitate on this one, beyond the two minutes it costs to read the licence tab.

If you came in looking for 70s fonts, beautiful fonts, block fonts and canva fonts, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are serif and they stay on this page. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on serif fonts and script and serif font combinations, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. We keep it under Serif Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the serif fonts we have gone through.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
