About Varellia
What we like about Varellia is how little it tries to be everything — it does advertising, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Serif Fonts shelf. It sits at 5 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. Credit goes to OWPictures. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence.
Serifs are for reading, so we look at a full sentence in the preview rather than a single word — the rhythm shows up only in a line of text. Our own plan for it is alphabet, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
It answers to beauty, branding, classic and classy, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. We track what people actually type before they land here: serif fonts and script and serif font combinations. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family. People after this usually search serif too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. Its home here is Serif Fonts — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
