About Thoren
Most of what turns up under branding needs work before it is usable. Thoren is the version that does not. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. It comes from Perfectype. With 17 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.
We keep it filed mentally under calm serif font, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Look at the face at body-text size before you look at it big. Most serif disappointments happen at eleven point, not at forty-eight. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether branding was the description or the aspiration.
If you came in looking for branding typography, classy, clean serif font and contemporary serif font, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. What this shelf gets asked for is serif fonts and script and serif font combinations. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. On this site it lives on the Serif Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing serif fonts rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
