About Sunday Fatso
Sunday Fatso earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to 70s retro font, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. Only 7 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. vintype is the name on the listing.
We would use it the way the listing hints — accessories — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. A serif is for reading, so judge it by a full sentence rather than a word — the rhythm only shows up across a line. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether 70s retro font was the description or the aspiration.
The listing files it under adorable, bold and bold display font — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. The wording people arrive with is serif fonts and script and serif font combinations, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. On this site it lives on the Serif Fonts shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing serif fonts rather than searching for it by name. The neighbouring searches are serif — worth a look if this particular font is close but not quite it.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
