About Rookvale
We put Rookvale on the Serif Fonts shelf because bold font is the kind of thing people come here looking for, and this one answers it without a detour. DREAM made it. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. 2 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up.
We keep it filed mentally under bold serif, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. A serif is for reading, so judge it by a full sentence rather than a word — the rhythm only shows up across a line. How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
