About Micro Borcale
What we like about Micro Borcale is how little it tries to be everything — it does aesthetic social media graphics, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Serif Fonts shelf. Only 3 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. It comes from Design Joo. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict.
Our own plan for it is clean lines, because that is where this kind of font does the least arguing with you. Look at the face at body-text size before you look at it big. Most serif disappointments happen at eleven point, not at forty-eight. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether aesthetic social media graphics was the description or the aspiration.
Filed as cosmetics packaging, custom cricut designs, delicate ligatures and font for branding. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. Judged against the requests we see — serif fonts and script and serif font combinations — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. The same shelf also answers to serif, so widen the search there before giving up on it. You will find it among the serif fonts, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
