About Melville Text
This is the one we reach for when the request is book. Melville Text keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. Luhop Creative made it. 11 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one.
Serifs are for reading, so we look at a full sentence in the preview rather than a single word — the rhythm shows up only in a line of text. Put it to work on business text first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
Filed as book text and classical roman. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. It is shelved with the rest of the serif fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. Related wording on the shelf: serif. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. The wording people arrive with is serif fonts and script and serif font combinations, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
