About Kytie

The reason Kytie is here is aesthetic serif font and nothing else. It does not try to cover the next three jobs along, and we would rather it did not. Credit goes to Perfectype. The save count is still small at 7, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence.

We would use it the way the listing hints — boutique logo font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. A serif is for reading, so judge it by a full sentence rather than a word — the rhythm only shows up across a line. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether aesthetic serif font is really what you are getting.

The words on the listing are branding, branding serif font, chic fashion typeface and classic, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. What this shelf gets asked for is serif fonts and script and serif font combinations. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. We filed it under Serif Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
