About Duke Charming

We put Duke Charming on the Serif Fonts shelf because 70s fonts is the kind of thing people come here looking for, and this one answers it without a detour. letterhend is the name on the listing. Plenty of people got here before us: 587 of them saved it. The buyers who left a word rate it 4.8 out of 5 — 8 reviews, all of them on the listing.

If you want one use for it, take 70s retro: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Look at the face at body-text size before you look at it big. Most serif disappointments happen at eleven point, not at forty-eight. We would not hesitate on this one, beyond the two minutes it costs to read the licence tab.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
