About Derose
Derose is our basic ui pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. It sits at 32 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. It comes from yukitacreative.
Look at the face at body-text size before you look at it big. Most serif disappointments happen at eleven point, not at forty-eight. We keep it filed mentally under bold, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. We check two things before any download like this: the preview at full size, and whether the licence covers what you plan to do with it.
Search for bold font, canva, clean and desktop and this is the file those words land on; they are all the same font, filed under whichever phrase you happened to type. The searches that bring people to this shelf are serif fonts and script and serif font combinations — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it. Its home here is Serif Fonts — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing. People after this usually search serif too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
