About Blanca
We put Blanca on the Serif Fonts shelf because 60s font is the kind of thing people come here looking for, and this one answers it without a detour. Credit goes to Glyphonic. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. The save count is still small at 6, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus.
A serif is for reading, so judge it by a full sentence rather than a word — the rhythm only shows up across a line. We would use it the way the listing hints — 70s font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
The listing files it under alternates, bold serif, branding and canva — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. It is shelved with the rest of the serif fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. The searches that bring people to this shelf are serif fonts and script and serif font combinations — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
