What we like about Berysa is how little it tries to be everything — it does beauty font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Serif Fonts shelf. The designer behind it is Gridline type. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. It sits at 3 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it.
A serif is for reading, so judge it by a full sentence rather than a word — the rhythm only shows up across a line. We would use it the way the listing hints — birthday — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
