About Gingerbread
Gingerbread is our banner font pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. Credit goes to LalavaStudio. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. It sits at 22 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it.
The obvious job for it is birthday card, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. Type your own words in the preview box before you decide: script fonts look beautiful in the designer's sample and fall apart in all caps or with a double letter. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
The listing files it under christmas font, clean font, cute font and digital download font — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. People after this usually search script, calligraph, handwritten, hand written and signature too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. We filed it under Script and Calligraphy Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end. Put next to the usual requests here — script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
