About Dragon Empire

Most of what turns up under banner needs work before it is usable. Dragon Empire is the version that does not. yogaletter6 made it. With 9 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict.

Put it to work on branding first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. The join between letters is the whole craft in a script face, so we look at a word with a repeated letter before judging anything else. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

It answers to christmas, comic, fall and football, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. It is shelved with the rest of the script and calligraphy fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. Related wording on the shelf: script, calligraph, handwritten, hand written and signature. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. Judged against the requests we see — script fonts, cursive numbers, fancy cursive fonts and elegant vs script font — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
