About Yonkers
What we like about Yonkers is how little it tries to be everything — it does canva font, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Sans Serif Fonts shelf. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. 3 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. Illustration Ink is the name on the listing.
We keep it filed mentally under casual kids font, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. We check the numerals and the ampersand first, because a sans serif with a weak set of figures will bite you on every price list and date. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every font on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
It answers to craft font, craft svg font, crafty and cricut display font, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. It is shelved with the rest of the sans serif fonts, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. Judged against the requests we see — sans serif fonts and fonts sans serif — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. People after this usually search sans too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
