About Ultra Player
Ultra Player earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to action font, and straight answers are rarer in this font catalogue than you would think. It comes from Funtype Co.. It has gone unnoticed so far. We found it worth shelving anyway. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence.
We look at the lowercase l, the capital I and the figure 1 side by side; if two of them are the same shape, the face will cause trouble. If you want one use for it, take advertising font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether action font was the description or the aspiration.
If you came in looking for album cover font, apparel font, athletic font and basketball font, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. You will find it among the sans serif fonts, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job. The neighbouring searches are sans — worth a look if this particular font is close but not quite it. The wording people arrive with is sans serif fonts and fonts sans serif, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid.

How to use this font
- Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
- Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
- Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
- Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
